Biography

Sarita De Souza is a Canadian Music Composer for film, TV, video, game trailers, (linear  soundscapes) and stage. 

She has always been emotionally moved by the music written for film scores, TV and video games. While exploring her musical talents, she discovered her passion for writing music to visual media, was a talent that poured out of her quite effortlessly.

Sarita is currently studying Music Scoring for Screen and Stage at Sheridan College in Ontario. She acquired her diploma in Music: Performance, Business & Technology at College of the North Atlantic, in Newfoundland. Her music path began in vocal performance from the age of nine, eventually trained in vocal technique, and classical repertoire under Ian Garrett at the Canadian Academy of Vocal Music in Ontario. In high school, she also played clarinet with the "Blue Notes" jazz band.

Sarita is actively looking for opportunities to collaborate with individuals in the film, video, and gaming industry, that are inspired by the music she writes. Those who can envision their story portrayed through the music she creates for their masterpieces of film and video.
 

Sarita writes scores that blend seamlessly with the visual, so that the viewer comes away with a complete, and fulfilling experience that stays within their memory. She writes music that portrays, and describes the visual media in the best way possible. Music that amplifies the story line, the characters, and all the elements that come together to create the complete picture. Ultimately fulfilling the vision of the story being told, as seen through the eyes of its Director(s).

The sound of multiple instruments blending, complimenting, and giving flight to emotions through visual media, is what she aims to achieve. In her own words, "scoring to visual media, brings forth a new canvas with every new visual media source, and a new palette of sound for every new canvas. The endless ideas for musical color blending, offer me the start of an exciting musical adventure with every mood in visual media that is to be scored; painting the details of its essence in musical color."
